There is a pleasing contrast between the unassuming simplicity of the white walls and the welcome complexity of its natural fynbos environment.

This beach house is positioned carefully on the site between a milkwood and fynbos covered dune, using the natural landscape and predominent winds to direct the form and layout.

Two monopitch structures are positioned around a sheltered exterior space with an interlinking walkway. The palette is informed by the robust character filled textures and materials found in traditional South African homes. Its sculptural enfolding white walls, red brick floors compliments the simple timber and steel details.
